GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED LOANS

There are 3 types of loans which are supported through the following Ministries: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women Sport and Social Affairs and Ministry of Commerce. These can be categorized as Student Loan schemes, Youth Loan and Covid19 loan for businesses respectively.

1. Tobwaan te rikirake - Youth & Young couple loan scheme

Purpose: Loan supported through MWYSSA for youth & young couples with no education backgrounds to run their business or find benefits which can support them and their young families.

How to apply:

1. Applications can be accessed through the Ministry of Women Youth Sport and Social Affairs(MWYSSA), Bairiki.

2. Successful applicants will be forwarded to DBK

3. Process of loan with DBK loan officers.

2. Student loan schemes

Purpose: Loan supported through Ministry of Education

How to apply:

1. Applications can be found at Ministry of Education

2. Students are required to fill the form and submit them to Ministry of Education

3. Successful applicant names are then submitted to DBK

4. Process of loan are then carried out by our loan officers provided that the requirement are given to successful applicants from the Ministry of Education.

3. Covid19 loan for businesses

Purpose: Loans provided to businesses to support their financial profit due to Covid19. This loan is only for KCCI Members only.

How to apply:

1. Loan application can be retrieved from KCCI main office, Betio.

2. Completed applications are then submitted to DBK

1: Rural Support Loan (Outer Islands only) - this is mainly for Outer island clients to support their livelihood with a max total of $3,000:

For:

- - Copra cutting
- - Gardening or Farming
- - Fishing
- - Trading Store

Requirements:

1. A. Letter to confirm residency - man te kauntira ni kamatoa ae on kaain te aba ngkoe
2. B. Birth certificate - beeba ni bung
3. C. Passport photo - tamneim
4. D. Proforma invoice from Supplier - invoice man te store/company are ko na oota iai
5. E. Security land or KPF

2: Kiribati Product & Handicraft Loan - support Kiribati skills in producing handicraft items such as mats, fishing hats, baskets, candy (katiniben), shell earings and much more with a max total of $1,500.

Requirements:

A. Birth Certificate

B. Photo

C. Proforma Invoice from Supplier

D. Security land or KPF

E. Application fee of $20

3: Social Development Loan - personal purposes fund for birthdays, marriage, deaths, kateirake, refinance, personal transport, home furniture, computer sets, internet connections, mechanical & carpentry tools and other personal items & equipment with a max total of $50,000.

Requirements:

A. Birth Certificate

B. Photo

C. Passport copy & KPF ID instead of 'A' and 'B' above

D. Confirmation letter

E. Latest Payslip

F. KPF Statement

G. Loan Statement from KHC or ANZ

H. Application Fee of $20

4: Business Loan

4.1: New Business - with a max total of $10,000

Requirements:

1. Birth certificate or KPF ID
2. KPF pledge shows that 70% of KPF is unpledge
3. Confirmation letter
4. Latest payslip
5. Loan statement from KPF, KHC, ANZ
6. Business plan forecasting for next 5 years

4.2: Existing Business - with a max total of $10,000

Requirements:

1. Birth certificate or KPF ID
2. KPF pledge shows that 70% of KPF is unpledge
3. Confirmation letter
4. Latest payslip
5. Loan statement from KPF, KHC, ANZ
6. Copies of accounts submitted to tax office for past 5 years
7. Provide actual financial report for the past 6 months
8. Provide a projection for the next 3 years

5: Home Loan - for home establishment and development with a max total of $50,000 upon loan application but to be disbursed by installment.

Requirements:

A. Land survey map of construction site

B. Land ownership certificate

C. Construction plan and bill of materials

D. Details of employment status and salary slip

E. Security document

F. KPF statement and pledge

G. ANZ and KHC statement
